Musings on an Equinoctial StrollFire licks the sky with its blazing tongue--
leaving no smoky tails to slither--
its taste buds luxuriating in the wind
that funnels around, twisting and
manipulating the tendrils higher and higher.
The air feeds into flames, into lungs;
smarting, deadening, crisping and
cleansing.  Clean mold apparent,
it weighs heavily, hardly a moth's breath;
like an old love.  Feelings boiling, burning
in the best ways; all-consuming.  It soon
festers, only to leave emptiness in its
wake.  A hollow heart echoes its sorrows,
pleading for release from its cage.  Its song
is heard, and the wind caresses its tune,
holding it close, coaxing it out into the world.
The melancholy notes disperse, leaving only
exultant cries of freedom with a mere
undercurrent of what was, but not is.
The tempest carries the sound across the
flickering lights in the sky, exploding
into technicolor displays with sparks
trailing, meandering back down to Earth,
reluctant to be a part of such a

So long I have waited
Yet the storm always evaded
My calling, my wanting
Ever on the edge, ever taunting
The flower had withered and died
In that barren scape, to the earth it was tied
The first drops held promise

Of reviving a numb, cold heart
A steady rain came

Torrent after torrent, never halting

In the river with a never ending flow

No shadows lurk nor skulk from clouds barring the radiance of the sky.  Its rays reflect off of dew drops, giving the vain moon satisfaction from all its new mirrors.
Liquid light shines upon trees, caresses the dark landscape, kisses the tender young flower buds.
All is quiet, leaving Sky and Earth to contemplate the cosmos, which are very active this time of night.
Stardust trickles and flits and darts between celestial orbs, giving off squeals of delight.  Meteors give chase, colliding with thunderous roars and tinkling laughter.
Comets dance as only comets know how, through their everlasting night.
Storms rage with all their soundless fury, sucking dry all light to come, and only giving empty darkness in return.
